Day 1: Arrival in Deoghar, Jharkhand
Upon arrival at Deoghar airport, you will be met and assisted before boarding your vehicle to proceed to Basukinath Temple. This temple is deeply rooted in history, where Vasuki, the serpent who adorns Bhagavan Shiva’s neck, along with other Nagas from Nagaloka, offered sacrifices to Mahadev during the Sagar Manthan (churning of the ocean). Consequently, Bhagavan Shiva is worshiped here as Basukinath, the Bhagavan of Vasuki, with Devi Parvati beside him.
After your visit to Basukinath Temple, you’ll proceed to Trikut Parvat via ropeway (at your own expense). This scenic spot is not just a natural wonder but also holds historical significance. It is believed that King Ravana came here to perform penance in hopes of receiving a boon from Bhagavan Shiva. However, his meditation was interrupted by Bhagavan Hanuman, who was instructed by the Devas to thwart Ravana’s penance, thus preventing him from completing his meditation.
Following your exploration of Trikut Parvat, you will visit Tapovan, another site of historical importance. Tapovan is associated with the legend where Ravana’s penance was broken by Hanuman. This place echoes with tales of devotion and divine intervention.
In the evening, enjoy dinner and retire for an overnight stay at your hotel in Deoghar.
Day 2: Deoghar to Kolkata
After breakfast and check-out, you will visit the revered Baba Baidyanath Temple. This temple, also known as Vaidyanatha Jyotirlinga, is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Bhagavan Shiva. Located in Deoghar, this site is a major pilgrimage destination, attracting devotees from all over the country who come to seek the blessings of Bhagavan Shiva.
Next, you will visit Jayadurga Shakti Peetha, one of the 108 Shakti Peethas. This sacred site is believed to be where the heart of Sati, the first consort of Shiva, fell. The Shakti Peethas are revered as places where parts of Sati’s body or ornaments fell to the earth, and they are considered highly auspicious for worship.
After the temple visits, you will proceed to Deoghar airport for your flight to Kolkata. Upon arrival in Kolkata, check in to your hotel and, in the evening, visit Kalighat Temple. This ancient temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, where it is believed that the toes of Maa Sati’s right foot fell. The Devi resides here as Shakti Kalika, and the temple is one of the most significant pilgrimage sites in Kolkata.
Following your visit to Kalighat, you will proceed to Belur Math, located on the banks of the Hooghly River. This serene and spiritual site includes temples dedicated to Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda, with their relics enshrined here. It is also the main monastery of the Ramakrishna Order, attracting visitors from around the world.
Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel in Kolkata.
Day 3: Kolkata to Guwahati
Early in the morning, you will visit Dakshineswar Kali Temple, a temple where the revered saint Ramakrishna Paramhansa served as a priest and experienced divine visions of MahaDevi Kali. Situated on the banks of the Hooghly River, this temple is considered the second most important Shakti Peetha after Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati.
After returning to your hotel for breakfast, check out and proceed to the airport for your flight to Guwahati. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax before heading to visit the famous Kamakhya Temple. This temple is one of the most important Shakti Peethas, where it is believed that Sati’s yoni (womb) fell, making it a symbol of feminine power and fertility. The temple is a major pilgrimage site, especially revered for its Tantric significance.
In the evening, you will enjoy a magnificent sunset over the Brahmaputra River, followed by a relaxing sunset cruise. Dinner will be served, and you will spend the night at your hotel in Guwahati.
Day 4: Guwahati City Tour and Return to Bangalore
After breakfast, you will embark on a city tour of Guwahati, which includes visits to the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra (a cultural institution showcasing the cultural heritage of Assam), Cotton College, Assam State Museum, and the Navagraha Temple (a temple dedicated to the nine celestial bodies, significant for astrological beliefs). You’ll also visit Vasistha Ashram Temple, a serene site associated with the sage Vasistha.
Following lunch, you will visit the Umananda Temple, a Shiva temple located on Peacock Island in the middle of the Brahmaputra River. This temple is known for its peaceful ambiance and scenic location.
In the evening, you will proceed to the airport for your flight back to Bangalore, carrying the blessings of Maa Kamakhya and cherished memories of your spiritual journey
